RecallChek

Fix or Replace Faulty Items at No Cost

RecallChek is a way to provide buyers with peace of mind by providing regular updates on their built-in appliances and HVAC units in the case of a recalled item. In 1974, a law was created to protect consumers against recalled items by making the manufacturer responsible for fixing or replacing the faulty item AT NO COST. However, in order to find out if a household appliance is on a recall list, the homeowner has to sift through a database of 225 million items! Who has the time (and the patience) for that?

That is where AJF Inspections & Engineering can help!

AJF Inspections & Engineering offers RecallChek® with the home inspection as a complimentary service. It is a separate report and not a part of the AZ BTR Standards of Practice.

How Does RecallChek Work?

During the home inspection, an AJF Home Inspector will record and submit the model and serial numbers of your built-in home appliances and HVAC systems.

At RecallChek Headquarters, the model numbers (and serial numbers where accessible) are computer matched against MILLIONS of recalls, and you will receive your report within ten days.

In the event of a potential recall, RecallChek informs home buyers of:
  • the nature of the recall
  • where the product was sold
  • how to remedy the defect and
  • how to get the item repaired or replaced in most cases – FREE

If a manufacturer has designed a faulty product, they MUST recall that product, and in most cases, FIX IT FOR FREE! RecallChek® has over 225 MILLION recalled items; making it easier to determine a potential hazard.
